Rose Marasco: index
April 24, 2015 through December 6, 2015

Rose Marasco: Index will present photographs spanning the four-decade career of Rose Marasco (b. 1948), one of the most beloved photographers in the state of Maine. Index will feature a range of subject matter, including her decade-long series titled Domestic Objects, a suite of Maine Grange Hall images, and scenes of Portland that visually chronicle the life of the city. After earning a BFA at Syracuse University, Marasco attended the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York, for graduate school. In 1979, Marasco moved to Maine, where she was on the faculty of the University of Southern Maine until her retirement in the summer of 2014. Index is part of the PMA’s ongoing Circa series of exhibitions showcasing contemporary art.
